Single-phase: kW = V × I × PF ÷ 1000 · I = kW × 1000 ÷ (V × PF)
Three-phase: kW = V × I × √3 × PF ÷ 1000 · I = kW × 1000 ÷ (V × √3 × PF)

- V — RMS voltage (line-to-line for 3φ)
- PF — power factor (0–1)
- I — line current (amps)

How do I convert amps to kW?

How do I convert kW to amps?
Single-phase: I = kW × 1000 ÷ (V × PF). Three-phase: I = kW × 1000 ÷ (V × √3 × PF). Example: 10 kW at 480 V 3φ PF 0.85 ≈ 14.15 A.
Do I need power factor for amps to kW?
Yes for AC real power. Resistive loads can use PF ≈ 1.0. Motors and UPS loads often use 0.8–0.95. If you already know kVA, use kVA to Amps instead.
What is 100 A in kW at 480 V 3-phase?

Is amps to kW the same as kVA to amps?
